Dental hygienist – should you get one? It depends, what is your hourly rate?
How much dentistry can you sell if you are hardly in the room- some patients don’t like this. A good hygienist can do a lot of tasks to take the load off. The clean is another opportunity to sell your treatment plan – another chance to do a closer exam, another chance to get to know your patient- more valuable than rushing to another case, another chance to distill treatment options in your own mind.
Your task is to be in the room fixing dental problems- all other tasks are costing you time and money – delegate – bookwork ( but know accounting or your bean counters may steal your money).
